This restaurant blew my husband and I away a few days ago. The food was fantastic. Small kitchen, expert crew, every one was like a little artist working away at the most delicious food I have ever had. I immediately sent a long email to my whole email box declaring everyone should try this restaurant. All the ingredients are organic and the time spent on each dish was obviously very time intensive to produce, being vegan and veggie. The dishes I found were huge. My husband and I split their Pasta Alfredo, slivered zucchini and veggies, topped with a creamy cashew sauce. One order was enough for us to share that night and take home the rest to share for lunch the next day. We each also had our own soups and they were huge soups. I had a beautiful miso base with large cuts of yams and green sprigs and lots of seaweed, flavorful and hot. We then saved room for a dessert each and those two also each were works of art but plenty satisfying. The food was so multi layered in order to achieve the cream sauce or the butter look or feel without any animal products. I am a vegetarian however my husband is not and he stated this was the best food he had ever tasted. Go to this restaurant support this jewel. Try dining in the backyard where there is an old beautiful plum tree dominating the zen landscaped setting. The furniture is made from reclaimed teak wood and the linens are wonderful linen like or hemp feeling thick weave. This is a secret garden full of healing foods. My Husband and I also both slept that night after dinner with the best sleep we had enjoyed in a long time and the difference was the magical healing food, made with loving "medicine" hands.

This is a hard restaurant to find in the city, but it's definitely a must to try! I went to this restaurant with my parents, and they were amazed with the unique display and preparation of the delicious food. We shared all of the orders, which is definitely the best way to eat at this restaurant. There are so many great choices, so sharing gives you the ability to try some of each. I would recommend the tiny avocado sandwiches, celery root salad, Korean Chilean zucchini dish, and the lavender/pomegranate cheesecake. The waitress was extremely nice, and was willing and able to answer several of our questions regarding the special soul food ingredients. The sauces that are mixed into the food are unbelievable. The cashew sauce is amazing! Enjoy ALIVE!!
